Just recentering doesn't help, because recentering doesn't actually rotate the camera. So, not only is it a spider phobia simulator, it's also a broken neck simulator if your setup isn't facing the way the application expects to begin with.Jokes aside... this application was clearly designed for the Rift, and shoe-horned onto the Vive. You look at a piece of paper to get more or less spiders in the scene. There are 5 levels of spiders. Each level adds more spiders. If you can stand the mere sight of essentially immoble spiders placed around the room, then congratulations--you're *cough* "cured?" The spiders never touch you, never bite you, never move aggressivly towards you. Real spiders skitter my friends. Real spiders will crawl on you, and leave nasty red bite marks on you if you let them--and they're the right species.The room which the application takes place in is a high-rise building overlooking Central Park in New York. The ambiant sound is frequently punctuated with the sounds of honking cars. I guess this game's target audience is squeemish city dwellers? Perhap the honking were meant to add stress and unnerve you in combination with the spiders... I have no idea. I just found it annoying. Bottom line, if this application were free, I wouldn't be complaining. But I'm sorry to say, that was $4.99 down the toilet.. I was intrigued by the addition of CBT with VR to overcome phobias. Regarding this adaption, I was left a bit underwhelmed. I was expecting more levels of spiders and to see them gradually start crawling on my arms and over my face all while trying to remain calm. I think with further development and graphic enhancement, there really is something for science here. I encourage the developpers to continue working with this concept.. This game is awful. I wouldn't even buy it for 20p. This isn't a game, it's a 5-10 minute experience without interaction. I've seen most people get scared of the Brookhaven Demo, I've seen people freak out at the claustrophobia from the $2.99 Unseen Diplomacy. Conversely, this title made people angry I wasted their time putting it on. It's a conceptually great idea with an implentation that probably took at least an hour or two in the Unity editor. I'd still have asked for a refund if this was a $1 app.. After spending $5 on a game I honestly didn\u2019t expect much. That being said, this game isn't even worth that. The trailer is misleading making you think that there is more to the game than just a couple of levels yet there is nothing. The game trailer is all that is in the game. I am also new to steam so I didn\u2019t know you could get a refund. After trying I only found out that they will not grant me one because I have had the game rotting away on my desktop for almost a month. Don't waste the money.. As a trained psychotherapist, working with anxiety and exposure this application is completely inapprioprate. It is not an accurate reflection of what virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) should be. Nor is it an accurate representation of exposure in general. This VRET system is potentially harmful to any one with clinical or subclinical levels of anxiety. I would NOT recommend this to a client and if I did I would open myself up to legal action due to the potentially psychologically harmful content within (i.e., the 'warning' page and the entire antidote thing).Also to the delivers, please learn the different between rubber hand illusion and general and other proprioception illusions.
